TPF Chats: Freelancing Fundamentals with Sara Tasker
The author, photographer and online entrepreneur on revisiting your freelancing mission
The Professional Freelancer chats with Sara Tasker, the author, photographer and online entrepreneur about revisiting your freelancing mission.
Sara’s journey to working for herself started while she was on maternity leave from her NHS job. She started an Instagram page under the name @me_and_orla to document her maternity leave while pregnant with her daughter, Orla. After growing a loyal and engaged audience, she left her day job to take a wild leap into the unknown to turn her internet passion into a business. That leap changed her life – she’s now written a best-seller, Hashtag Authentic, launched a number one podcast of the same name and helps other creatives to make it happen for them, too.
In this chat, Sara and I reflect on some of the core principles that make a successful freelance business. We explore how to take time out and reassess and why it's so important to do that. We cover things like how to define (or redefine) your freelance business, as well as some practical tips for giving your marketing and admin a mini-makeover.
